Scala and Kolacny Brothers – Creep (Radiohead cover)

| Posted by

I’ve had numerous people ask me about what I think about the upcoming film on the origins of Facebook and its creator, Mark Zuckerberg (shown above), The Social Network. Other than an intriguing story, cast, and trailer, I’ve been asked even more about the song in the trailer. If you are unfamiliar, it is a cover of Radiohead‘s “Creep”, sang by a Belgian women’s choir known as Scala & Kolacny Brothers, oddly enough. It’s haunting, eerie, and creepy (no pun intended), and truly sets the mood for the film which is chalk-full of deceit, betrayal, and greed. The Social Network has the potential to be blockbuster as long as it doesn’t follow the path of other Justin Timberlake films: The Love Guru, Southland Tales, Black Snake Moan, and Alpha Dog, just to name a few of his less than oscar worthy performances. If you haven’t seen the trailer, check it out here.

I am not a fan of covers, but this, performed by angel voices sounds really great.

I was surprised when the movie never used the song. It only appeared in the trailer.

An–picky grammatical note–the song was “sung” by a choir, not sang.

Your characterization of the mood of the song was right on the money.

I’m interested in a CD of this choir with this fantastic song in it. I had heard that a CD was coming in January……has anybody found it or has it even been made?
