This is pure pop music. The genre of pop is considered by most music-savvy individuals to be quite artificial and generic. It’s easy to dismiss most pop and then spin a old Pharoahe Monch album and pretend to understand the real world while listening to it on an iPod and Dr. Dre Beats both paid for by your parents. Get real brah. Some musicians are still working within the realm of pop and doing it well. Matt and Kim are a popular duo consistently making good music and this is their first single from their entirely self-produced fourth album Lightning, out this fall.
