The Roots’ frontman, along with Lotek, give some assistance to the second single off of Hilltop Hoods’ “Drinking From The Sun” album. With Chali 2na being on the first release from the album, and Black Thought being on the second, it’s only getting me more excited to see the other features they have enlisted on other tracks. It’s also sounding like it should be a pretty solid project overall, which is great for the comeback of Hilltop Hoods. Enjoy.

MTV Hive House gives us a look at Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q playing a few hits from their most recent albums. More information can be read below:

Above, watch Kendrick Lamar perform “Hol’ Up” and “A.D.H.D.” in front of a retrofitted moose print background, surrounded by a handful of his most fervent fans. Later in the session, Lamar plays hype man for accomplice ScHoolboy Q. Performing “Hands on the Wheel” from his breakout album “Habits & Contradictions,” ScHoolboy stirs the small crowd into a frenzy of waving hands and bobbing heads.

Definitely worth checking out the up close and personal performances from these two, because it doesn’t happen too often anymore.

So this may actually be the first time that I have posted anything from T.I. It’s not that I don’t dig his music, but it’s just the first. Here’s his brand new single that caught my attention entitled “Like That.” It’s just great to see T.I. doing his thing today, and I believe that his upcoming “Trouble Man” album will put him right back to where he was before jail. You can expect to see “Trouble Man” on the shelves on September 4th. Enjoy.

Boston, what’s good? Less than two weeks and I’m back. Pretty much amped about that, to say the least. Okay, so the track…Mope Pope enlists fellow Boston-bred MC and co-star in the hit film The Town, Slaine. “Dead Kennedy’s” is an anthem for those on the grind, those stuck in the loop, and those who do what they got to do and just make it by. We all got work. Well, the majority of us do. Salute to those with patience, endurance, and dedication! Closing note: When Slaine dropped those Boston-accent bars, I just lost it. ScienZe & King I Divine released this free project back in mid-March, on and in collaboration with, 2dopeboyz. Divine ScienZe was so well received by so many listeners, I decided to give it a listen myself. As the last song was coming to its end, I played that $#!+ back because I just had to hear it again. So I suggest that you, at the very least, check out a few songs. “Hero” is certainly one of the top tracks on the tape. Also may I suggest that you imbibe in the sweet sounds of “Peace” as well as the Dilla-esque, “Enjoy Tonight” – and lastly, if you download it after those two, you’ll get the hidden track “How I’m Designed.” This tape has roots in boom-bap and underground, and displays an extensive amount of quality sampling. #HIPHOP

Ground Up and crew are back at it again with a new video for us shot in heaven, also known as Amsterdam. Three months ago they released The Get Up which is one of my favorite mixtapes of the year. The production from Bij Lincs…do I even need to compliment this guy again? His production speaks for itself. Azar and Malakai once again prove that music can be made independently from the ground up. I’m kicking myself because I still have yet to make it to one of their shows. This summer it shall be done. Go download The Get Up.
