LRG and The Kid Daytona finally put together a video for one of my favorite tracks off of his project, “The Interlude.” Haven’t listened to the track in a while, so it was nice to hear it again with a set of visuals. 9th kills it on the production, as usual. Hell yes. 9th serves up another track off of his “The Wonder Years” album, which features The Chef and Big Remo. 9th went pretty raw in terms of the production on this, which is perfect for Raekwon and Remo to go in on. This track got me more excited that any others that I’ve heard from this project, and now I am highly anticipating the release of it on September 27th. While we’re all waiting for that date, let’s enjoy.

Oh, and a fun fact, if you didn’t know: Raekwon is my favorite Wu-Tang member. Yeah, I said it.

Pittsburgh-native, Crystal Seth, just released his latest visual from his “Self Portrait” project. I really dig the vibes that this track has, with a 9th Wonder beat, and both Crystal Seth and Ghosty’s relaxed lyricism. Being from Pittsburgh, it’s great to see people from my town making solid music, as well as watching my town in videos. “Self Portrait” can be downloaded via DatPiff. Expect more to come from Crystal Seth in the near future. Enjoy.

In my opinion, Skyzoo is one of the most underrated MCs in the game. I’ve been a big fan for a few years now, and he has never seemed to disappoint me. After a few weekly leaks, his latest project “The Great Debater,” is finally here. With production from names such as 9th Wonder, !llmind, Swiff D, Best Kept Secret, Oh No, and others, this tape is definitely something special. I haven’t listened to it in it’s entirety, yet, but I can guarantee that it will be one of the best releases this year. 9th Wonder has always been known as someone that’s more than just a hip-hop producer. He is a scholar. He’s been a professor for quite some time now, and if you follow him on Twitter, you know he likes to drop as much knowledge as he can at all times. The Student Hip-Hop Organization at University of Virginia caught up with 9th to discuss many aspects of his life including teaching, music production, and his upcoming “The Wonder Years” documentary, among other items. Female rapper RapSody has been 9th Wonder’s secret weapon as of late and delivers fully on this beat. Look forward to hearing more from her in the future. I also like Mac Miller on this track, it’s good to see him diversifying the artists he works with. Of course the beat is straight soul heat from 9th, but what else is new.
